## Version 13.0
This is the **LAST UPDATE** for Minecraft 1.20.1. It focuses on polishing the mod and making many items more desirable to use.
#### Highlights
- Added various early-game items which have useful effects originally exclusive to Crystallite gear.
- Reworked the effects of many Crystallite items to be more useful.
- Buffed stats for all Crystallite and Ender Titanium tools and armor.
- Improved overall mod performance and polish.
#### New Items
- **Amethyst Helmet** - Same effect as Amethyst-Crystallite Helmet. Shows bright particles on all ores in a 24 block radius, if they are exposed to air.
- **Ore Vision Potion** - New potion effect which does the same thing as wearing an Amethyst Helmet. Brewed using an Awkward Potion and an Amethyst Shard.
- **Dripstone Boots** - Causes a damaging shockwave when landing from a fall. Works the same way as Amethyst-Crystallite Boots.
- **Honeycomb Helmet** - Can stick to ceilings, in the same way as the Honey-Crystallite Helmet.
- **Redstone Sword and Dagger** - Heals the user on every attack, in the same way as Redstone-Crystallite weapons.
- **Lapis Lazuli Sword and Dagger** - Deals damage through armor.
- **Emerald Sword and Dagger** - Causes the Pitfall effect for 3s, which is now a potion-style effect. This traps mobs in the ground for the effect duration.
#### Crystallite
**General:**
- Added a Smithing Table recipe to remove an upgrade from any piece of Crystallite gear
- Buffed Durability of all Crystallite equipment by around 33%
- Changed recipes of some Elemental Crystals
**Bows:**
- Nerfed base damage of all Crystallite Bows by 0.5 (except Honey upgrade)
- Prismarine upgrade - Arrows now travel at full speed in water. Nerfed damage boost while arrows are in water.
- Amethyst upgrade - Arrows now home into nearby mobs, rather than shooting directly at them. This effect stacks with the Amethyst-upgraded Helmet.
**Armor:**
- Honey Helmet - Can now stick to most transparent full blocks on the ceiling.
- Honey Chestplate - Increased absorption regeneration rate to 2HP every 10s
- Amethyst Chestplate - Changed effect. Now grants the effect Resistance I while at full HP.
- Amethyst Leggings - Reduced jank when climbing walls, and most transparent full blocks can now be climbed.
- Nether Diamond upgrade - Reworked armor effect. It now reduces burn time and gives Fire Resistance when you are set on fire.
- Sculk Leggings - Speed while crouching is now increased by a multiplier of 1.3x, rather than addition.
- Sky Chestplate - Now knocks back all mobs within 1 block when attacked.
- Netherite Chestplate - Buffed radius of Spin Thorns full-set bonus.
- Winged Boots - Changed to be a Smithing recipe
**Charms:**
- Magic Ring - Buffed to +20% XP drops and improved rounding of XP drop values.
- Flaming Circlet - Now has the old effect of Nether Diamond Armor. Sets attackers on fire for 3s.
- Earth Circlet - Acts the same as the new Ore Vision effect, rather than highlighting ores with dim lights.
- Reflect Charm - Buffed damage of reflected arrows
- Nature Ring - Reduced price from 128 to 69 Emeralds from Jeweller
- Added Ender Goggles and Withered Gauntlet as Jeweller trades
**Tools:**
(any changes to Swords have also been done to the corresponding Daggers)
- Sculk Pickaxe - Greatly increased range in which ores can be mined all at once.
- Sculk/Emerald Axes - Multi-log mining effect is now disabled while crouching.
- Sculk Shovel and Hoe, and Prismarine Shovel - Now drops the correct blocks when enchanted with Silk Touch.
- Topaz Pickaxe - Buffed double drops chance to 20%
- Amethyst Pickaxe - Particles are now always shown regardless of client settings.
- Amethyst upgraded tools - Greatly reduced all durability costs and cooldown times. Durability is no longer used when no ores are found.
- Honey tools - All tools can now safely harvest honey from beehives
- Honey Pickaxe and Axe - Combo mining now only works for blocks for which the correct tool is being used, and works better on hard blocks such as Obsidian. Increased timeout to 2s.
- Honey Shovel and Hoe - Added a new effect. When many of the same plant is mined in a row, it has a 20% chance to drop Bone Meal.
- Emerald Sword - Pitfall effect is now less janky and works like a potion effect. Pitfall now removes the Levitation effect from the target.
- Emerald Chestplate and Nature Ring - Halved time for HP regeneration, and removed restriction on being out of combat
- Emerald Hoe - Changed effect. Plants now have a 10% chance to drop Bone Meal when mined.
- Redstone Sword - Now heals the user on every hit, with a 1s cooldown.
- Redstone Pickaxe and Axe - Changed effect. Mining speed now increases with long-term use, up to a high limit.
- Redstone Shovel and Hoe - Changed effect. Chance for plants to drop Bone Meal now increases with long-term use, up to 20%.
- Gold Sword - Increased spin attack radius and improved particle texture.
- Lapis Sword, Axe and Dagger - Buffed damage to be equal to other Crystallite weapons.
- Sapphire Pickaxe - Changed effect so that it is like Silk Touch but only ore blocks drop themselves.
- Sapphire Shovel and Hoe - Changed effect. Now mines all plants in a 5x5 area.
- Sapphire tools - Changed textures to differentiate more from Lapis tools.
- Nether Diamond Shovel and Hoe - Changed effect. Plants now have a 10% chance to drop Charcoal when mined.
- Nether Diamond Sword - Added new effect. Damage increases when in the Nether.
#### Other Tools and Armor
- Flint tools now have an increased Critical Hit Multiplier and improved textures.
- Changed texture of Sapphire Sword/Dagger, to differentiate from new Lapis Sword/Dagger.
- Sapphire tools - Now enchanted with Silk Touch by default.
- Sapphire and Topaz Armor - Adjusted effect chances
- Topaz Pickaxe - Ores drop double 10% of the time.
- Topaz Axe, Shovel and Hoe - Now enchanted with Fortune I by default.
- Reduced durability of Ruby and Topaz Daggers to match how Dagger durability scales in other tool sets.
- Nether Diamond Sword and Axe now always set the target on fire for 3s.
- Nether Diamond Pickaxe now smelts all raw ore drops.
- Nether Diamond Shovel and Hoe now give a 5% chance for plants to drop Charcoal.
- Nether Diamond Armor - reworked in the same way as Nether Diamond upgraded Crystallite Armor.
- Buffed durability of Ender Titanium Tools and Armor by around 20%
- Increased base mining speeds for late-game tools across the board (with Efficiency V this largely makes no difference, except that Ruby-Crystallite Pickaxes can now mine Stone instantly)
#### Misc.
**Items and Effects:**
- Tweaked many item tooltips throughout the mod, to improve readability.
- Simplified crafting recipes and display names for all Metal Blocks.
- Added item and block tags for Metal Blocks.
- All Effect Armor and Wooden Armor is now trimmable.
- Potion of Lost Souls and Recall Potion - improved detection for a safe place to teleport the user, if the death/spawn location is obstructed.
- Frozen players jumping reduces effect time faster than before.
- Gave Karma potion effect a proper GUI icon.
- Advancement 'Overkill' now only counts melee damage.
- Blackstone Magma Blocks can no longer damage mobs which are immune to fire.
- Ice Staff - Adjusted explosion radius values. Explosion is now 1 large particle, rather than many small ones.
- Ice Staff - Improved texture of explosions and added sound effect for them.
- Guardian Staff - Particles now explode outwards from the player
- Reduced jank when using Double Jump in a laggy server.
- Added 'coyote time' to Double Jump - a jump will not be used up if jumping immediately after falling off a ledge.
- Double Jump now increases jump height when the player also has Jump Boost.
**General:**
- Improved performance of many procedures in the mod's code.
- Removed Attribute Viewer screen, as it was hurting performance.
- Gamerule `displayDamageValues` now only displays damage dealt by players with OP permissions. Message is now only shown to the attacker.
- Added command `/getworldsurface` which outputs the surface height of the world to chat, for use by players with OP permissions only.
- Added game rule `displayXpDropValues` which outputs the amount of XP dropped by mobs killed by players with OP permissions. Message is only shown to the attacker
- Added more JEI Information for features in the mod
- Tweaked Creative tab order
#### Bug Fixes
- Fixed issue where Crystallite Cluster sparkle sound effects where based on world time, causing issues when `doDaylightCycle` was set to `false`
- Fixed speed boost effect jitter with Sculk-Crystallite Boots
- Fixed Crystallite Charms advancements being granted incorrectly
- Fixed exploit where Emerald-Crystallite Pickaxe could be used to obtain infinite Bark items from any log.
- Fixed issue where particles from some effects only appeared on client-side. e.g. Magic Staff projectile particles.
- Blackstone Magma Blocks no longer destroy items dropped on top of them.
- Setting a mob on fire now properly shatters them if they are Frozen.
- Fixed issue where a Smelting Touch pickaxe would sometimes not smelt items.
- Corrected Crit Multiplier amount shown in tooltip of Sky-Crystallite Sword, Dagger and Axe.
- Advancement 'Feel The Fizz' now only counts when drinks are consumed, not any foods.
- Fixed bottom of Winged Boots texture
- Fixed issue where if a creeper exploded while stuck in the mud (Pitfall effect), the mud block display would stay in the world forever.
**Version 12.0.1 \[Energy Vial Hotfix]**
- Added a display to the Energy Vial's tooltip showing which armor pieces are active.
- Added `/energyvial` command for updating the Energy Vial's active state. Can be used by players with any permission level.
- Just Enough Items is no longer strictly required to load the mod, although it is highly recommended.
- Fixed a client-server desync bug where the Energy Vial GUI would not modify the vial's active state on Multiplayer Servers.
- Fixed a bug where the Energy Vial would not lose Effect Energy while the GUI was open.
- Fixed a bug where some Crystallite Charms were not equippable.
Effect Armor changes:
- **Reworked Effect Armor so that it no longer uses durability to give its effects.**
- **Added Energy Vial** to store Effect Energy, which powers Effect Armor. This is a curios-equippable item which can be upgraded to increase capacity.
- **Added Energy Vial GUI** for fuelling the vial with Effect Energy, as well as toggling the effects of Effect Armor without needing to take any armor off.
- **Added keybind for accessing the Energy Vial GUI.** By default, this is set to V.
- Added Enriched Blaze Powder for fuelling Energy Vials with Effect Energy. It can be upgraded to increase its potency.
- Cactus Shirts and Crying Obsidian Helmets are no longer considered Effect Armor, as they do not use Effect Energy.
- Nerfed Diamond Encrusted Magma Chestplate from Strength level 2 to 1.
- Hearty Shirt now restores 1 Absorption HP every 5s, until a limit is reached. This uses Effect Energy and only happens if the player hasn't taken damage in the last 10s.
- Winged Boots now passively grant a Double Jump effect, where Effect Energy is used up **per jump**.
- Glass Armor can now be mixed-and-matched between the different upgrade sets.
- **Effect Armor recipes no longer require another piece of armor, or any brewing ingredients.**
- Reworked the item tagging system for Effect Armor.
- Replaced the advancements which required the player to collect all types of Effect Armor.
- Changed the creative tab icon for the Effect Armor tab, since the Cactus Shirt is no longer considered to be Effect Armor.
Other changes:
- **Added Mystic Potion**, brewed with Ultra Enriched Blaze Powder, which is used to brew more powerful potions in the mod. It applies a random effect to the player when consumed.
- **Changed the recipes for Experience Potion and Potion of Lost Souls** to use a Mystic Potion, rather than an Awkward Potion.
- Added key bindings category for Better Tools and Armor.
- Frozen creepers exploding no longer leave behind a floating Ice Block Display entity.
- Crying Obsidian Helmet no longer activates for deaths to the void.
- Crying Obsidian Helmet now has a dynamic tooltip, showing whether its durability threshold is reached.
- Added JEI information for Crying Obsidian Helmet
- Players can no longer Double Jump while in water.
- The 'extra jumps' counter for a player with Double Jump is now reset when they are in water.
- Players can now Double Jump while moving upwards, if it has been at least 0.2s since their last jump.
- Added Purple Metal Signs to the creative inventory.
**Version 11.3 Patch Notes \[The Signs Update]**
- Added Metal Signs and Metal Hanging Signs for every colour of Metal Building Block
- This is for parity with my other mod, Big Signs, which adds One-Line variants of these signs
- Metal Signs can be crafted one-to-one with One-Line Metal Signs from Big Signs

- Added stonecutting recipes to change coloured Metal Walls back into their respective blocks.
- Changed some of the colour names of the Metallic blocks, to match Big Signs.
- Re-ordered Metallic blocks in the Creative inventory, to match Big Signs.
- Fixed a bug where the Prismarine-Crystallite Hoe could turn any block into Farmland, if Aquaculture was installed.
- Prismarine-Crystallite Hoe now tills fully-moisturised Farmland in a 3x3 area, and this still works if the right-clicked block is already Farmland.
- Mobs in their dying animation can no longer be frozen. This would previously cause ice blocks to linger in the world forever after the mob disappeared.
**New Stuff:**
- Added Bark item, which drops when stripping any log. Bark can be used to un-strip logs. This includes any logs from other mods.
- Added Wooden Armor, crafted using Bark.
- Added 2 new advancements relating to Bark and Wooden Armor.
- The player's hand now swings when using a Warden or Guardian Staff.
- The player's hand now swings when using various Crystallite tools' right-click effects.
- Added stonecutting recipes to turn Metallic Trapdoors back into full Blocks.
- Winged Boots now have a similar effect to Sky-Crystallite Boots, protecting from all falls less than 5 blocks.
**Crystallite Changes:**
- Various Crystallite tools' right-click effects can now be used while the tool is in the player's off-hand.
- Netherite- and Nether Diamond-Crystallite Shovels and Hoes no longer drain durability or go on cooldown when their effects are used in Creative Mode.
- Shortened the cooldown times and reduced durability costs of all Amethyst-Crystallite tool effects.
- Sky-Crystallite Boots now only prevent fall damage for falls up to 8 blocks, no matter what.
- Sky-Crystallite Boots now deal correct fall damage for falls above 8 blocks, instead of reduced damage.
- Winged Boots are now crafted exclusively using Sky-Crystallite Boots, rather than any upgrade.
- Winged Boots are now valid for the 'Low Gravity' advancement.
- Winged Boots now make the correct sound when equipped.
- Reverted Crystallite Cluster sparkling sound effect to how it was before, to display correct subtitles.
- Fixed a bug where the hitbox of Crystallite Cluster Air was visible.
- Fixed a bug where using Smelting Touch and a Magnetic Pickaxe could sometimes crash the world.
**Changes to Freezing:**
- Ice Staffs now correctly freeze mobs for a longer time in cold biomes, rather than when *not* in a cold biome. This change only applies to the radius caused by the Ensorcellation enchantment.
- Freezing a mob will now extinguish it.
- Frozen players in Creative mode are no longer slowed, or have an Ice Block display. They simply emit particles now.
- Endermen teleporting while frozen will delete the Ice Block display.
- Flying mobs, such as Phantoms, are now slowed while Frozen.
- Frozen mobs will now fall much slower.
- Fixed a bug with Ice Blocks shown on Frozen mobs, where the block would stay visible indefinitely.
**Version 11.1.1 Patch Notes**
- Ice Staffs now correctly freeze mobs for a longer time in cold biomes, rather than when *not* in a cold biome.
- Ice Staff dynamic tooltip now displays Freeze Time correctly.
- Icy Bracelet no longer counts damage from Thorns as a melee attack
- Changed the Crystallite Cluster sparkle sound effect. It is now more noticeable
- Fixed an issue with Crystallite Clusters where the sparkling sound would sometimes continue, even after a cluster had already been discovered.
- Fixed an issue where mobs Frozen by an attack would sometimes be instantly shattered.
#### Version 11.1 Patch Notes \[The Archery Update]
**Major additions:**
- **ADDED CRYSTALLITE BOWS** - A new powerful bow, with 16 different upgrades, has been added!
- **STAFF ENCHANTMENTS** - Magic Staffs now have 2 special enchantments, making them even more powerful!
- **REWORKED WEAPONS** - Many weapons in the mod have had their secondary effects re-worked!
- **IMPROVED VISUALS** - Frozen Mobs now appear inside a giant Ice block!
- **DYNAMIC TOOLTIPS** - More information is displayed about enchanted items, and items with secondary effects.
**Crystallite changes:**
- Added Crystallite Bow. Every upgrade set has its own upgraded Bow.
- Iron-Crystallite weapons now only give a Knockback boost of +2, rather than +3.
- Lapis-Crystallite Pickaxe now always drops drops 5 extra XP points when an ore is broken, instead of doubling the ore's original dropped XP.
- Netherite-Crystallite armor now has a full-set bonus. It deals Thorns damage to all mobs in close proximity to the player, when a full set is worn.
- Thorns Damage from Cactus Shirts or Netherite-Crystallite armor is no longer capped at 7.
- Emerald-Crystallite Chestplate and Nature Ring cooldowns have been shortened and simplified.
- Various situational speed-boosting effects have been buffed from +20% to +30%.
- Icy Bracelet now always adds a 10% Freeze chance, or 20% chance when in a cold biome.
- Shockwave damage from Amethyst-Crystallite Boots has been buffed to be similar to that of the Mace, from Minecraft 1.21.
- Shockwave damage now falls off with a mob's distance from the shockwave's center.
- Knockback from the Sky-Crystallite Chestplate is now constant, regardless of the distance between the attacker and the wearer.
- Arrows reflected by a Reflect Charm now deal slightly more damage.
**Reworks:**
- Topaz weapons now cause 'electric chains' which damage any mob they chain onto. These chains can continue spreading onto more nearby mobs, with a given chance.
- Gold-Crystallite Sword & Dagger have been reworked - They now have the Spin Attack ability. This damages all mobs in close proximity to the player, whenever they swing the weapon.
- Diamond-Crystallite weapons have been reworked - They now deal more damage to foes on full HP.
- Emerald-Crystallite Sword & Dagger have been reworked - They now have the Pitfall ability. This traps a mob in the ground for 5s, on a critical hit.
- Guardian Necklace has been reworked - It now deals damage periodically to nearby hostile mobs.
**Changes to Magic Staffs:**
- Lightning Staff now strikes in a random location, in a 5x5 box around the target.
- Lightning Staff cooldown is now 10s, to match the other staffs.
- Warden Staff now always shoots in a perfectly straight line, even through walls.
- Warden Staff now hurts all mobs in range of the sonic boom.
- Changed Guardian Staff sound effect when used.
- Changed Guardian Staff base stats. It now deals 6 damage, with a radius of 3 blocks.
- Added Ensorcellation enchantment. This makes a Magic Staff's effect more powerful. It has 3 levels.
- When enchanted with Ensorcellation:
- Fire Staff - projectiles explode. Power increases with level, and when in the Nether.
- Ice Staff - area of effect. Radius increases with level, and when in a cold biome.
- Lightning Staff - multiple strikes in an area. Amount increases with level, and in a thunderstorm.
- Warden & Guardian Staffs - increased damage and range. Damage and range increase with level.
- Added Swift Cast enchantment. This shortens the cooldown of a Magic Staff. It has 3 levels, and the cooldown is reduced by 15% (1.5s) per level.
- Projectile Staffs enchanted with Ensorcellation have a short cooldown between shooting projectiles, even if they do not hit. This cooldown is shortened if the staff has Swift Cast.
- Removed enchantment glint from all Staffs, by default.
- Staff projectiles no longer rebound off any entity.
**Dynamic Tooltips:**
- Added 'dynamic tooltips' to various items which change depending on various factors, including enchantments, location and equipment worn.
- Added dynamic tooltips to all the following items and enchantments: (Item/Ench. - Information)
- Magic Staffs - Damage, Effect, Cooldown
- All Bows now show the Arrow's damage value (not the actual damage dealt).
- Vanilla Bow enchantments: Flame, Punch, Power
- Vanilla Sword enchantments: Knockback, Fire Aspect

**Changes to Advancements:**
- Added even more advancements, relating to new features and utility potions.
- Removed XP rewards from easy advancements
- Added XP rewards for challenging advancements, proportional to their difficulty.
- Advancements for getting a full set of tools now only require **either** a sword or a dagger, not both.
- All Crystallite Tools advancement now requires all tools to be upgraded.
- Full set of Crystallite Armor advancement now requires all armor pieces to be upgraded.
- Replaced Topaz Armor advancement with a new one for Electric Chaining.
- Replaced Nether Diamond tools advancement with a full set of Nether Diamond armor advancement.
- "Crit Mattered" advancement now requires 2.5x Crit Multiplier, to make it more challenging
- Renamed various advancements
- Removed Ender Titanium armor advancement
- Removed Guardian Spike advancement
**Integration with other Mods:**
- Prismarine-Crystallite hoes now function the same as Neptunium Hoes, when Aquaculture is installed.
- Create:
- Added crushing recipes for all Ores, which give more drops than usual.
- Added crushing/milling recipe for Four Leaf Clover.
- Added haunting recipe for utility potions and Blackstone Magma.
- Added loot to mobs spawned from Quark's Monster Boxes.
- Added JEI Information to show which items in the mod can be obtained from Supplementaries Cave Urns or Quark Monster Boxes.
**Tooltips and GUI:**
- Cleaned up some Crystallite armor tooltips, by hiding the full-set bonus behind pressing Shift.
- Gold-upgraded Crystallite items now use Yellow text, rather than Gold, to differentiate them from Topaz- and Honey-upgraded items.
- Many items which become more powerful in certain areas now clearly show this in their tooltip.
- Added JEI Information to many items with hidden extra features.
- Added JEI Information explaining more complicated secondary effects for some items.
- Added JEI Information for all Ore generation.
- Added a new game rule: displayDamageValues. It displays the damage dealt by any player attacks in a chat message. This is used for debugging, but can be accessed using commands. It is off by default.
- Daggers and Consumables now appear in more than one creative tab.
- Creative tab order is now more neatly laid out, especially the Crystallite tab.
- Minor text changes and corrections throughout the mod.
**Fixes:**
- Redstone-Crystallite weapons correctly heal 2HP when at 25% HP or below, rather than below 30%
- Arrows shot by a player wearing an Amethyst-Crystallite Helmet now deal correct damage.
- Arrows shot by a player wearing a Reflect Charm are no longer reflected by another player wearing the charm. This is to prevent infinite bouncing and game crashes.
- The Reflect Charm now only reflects projectiles shot by an entity.
- The Reflect Charm no longer blocks all damage from thrown Tridents and Fireworks.
- Fixed a bug where the Critical Hit Multiplier boost from the Criticality effect would be lost upon relogging, even though the effect would still be active.
- Sugar Blocks now correctly have Shovels as their preferred tool for breaking.
- Better Painting and Item Frame recipes now replace the vanilla recipes, rather than appearing alongside them.
- Loot can no longer generate with incorrect enchantments. For example, a helmet with Curse of Karma.
- Smelting Touch can now only appear on Pickaxes.
- Magic Staffs, Obsidian Sticks and Blue Slime Sticks are now shown correctly in the player's hand, when viewed in 3rd person.
- Cherry Treehouses now spawn again, having been absent since v11.0
- Blackstone Magma Blocks no longer deal damage to sneaking players.
- Crystallite and Ender Titanium tools now correctly show their Harvest Level, when using the Tool Stats mod.
- Fixed broken death message for Curse of Karma.
- Arrows no longer rebound off Frozen mobs.
**Other changes:**
- Nether Diamond weapon base fire chance is now 25%
- Ender Titanium weapon Damage boost, when in the End, has been buffed to +3, from +2.5
- When a Bow with Thunder Shot shoots a lightning rod, a lightning bolt is now summoned.
- Frozen mobs now appear inside an Ice block display entity, which is broken when the entity is shattered, or the effect expires.
- Frozen mobs can now be shattered with arrows shot from a Bow with Freeze Shot.
- Thunderstorm-boosted effects now only work if the location can see the sky.
- Curse of Karma now deals damage equal to its level, if cheats are used to obtain the enchantment at a higher level.
