The Cobblemon Myths and Legends Addon for Cobblemon Mod introduces key items and new spawning conditions, intended to add encounters with Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, along with pre-made spawns for select key items.
The Cobblemon Myths and Legends Addon for Cobblemon Mod introduces a dynamic new feature where key items directly influence spawning conditions. These items, when held by a player, fulfill specific conditions, causing certain Pokémon to spawn exclusively around that player(every condition specific to the Pokémon must be fulfilled in order for it to spawn) . This mechanic also applies to multiple players independently, each holding the necessary items.
Key items can be found in selected loot chests by default, with their rarity and specific loot tables configurable in the settings. This allows for a tailored gameplay experience, where players can adjust how and where these items appear in the game world.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Cobblemon and Myths and Legends Addon
Q: What is the Cobblemon Myths and Legends Addon?
A: The Cobblemon Myths and Legends Addon adds key items and new spawning conditions for Cobblemon, including pre-made spawns for each key item.
Q: How can I spawn legendaries in Cobblemon?
A: To spawn legendaries in Cobblemon, players must ensure that their inventory contains specific key items and that they are standing in the correct biome for the legendary Pokémon to spawn. The mod automatically scans player inventories every 2 minutes and 30 seconds by default to determine eligibility for legendary spawns. This interval can be configured in the `Cobblemon_MythsAndLegends_Addon_Config.toml` file, located under `config/MythsAndLegends`, by adjusting the `inventory_check_interval` parameter (known as `checkInventoryInterval` in older versions) to your desired frequency. The default setting is 3600 Minecraft ticks, equivalent to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. For immediate inventory checks, players can use the `/mythsandlegends checkinventory` command. Afterwards, the `/checkspawn ultra-rare` command (or the appropriate command for a different spawn bucket, if modified) should be used to initiate the spawn check, ensuring the player is within the correct biome for the legendary Pokémon to appear.
Q: Do all configured Pokémon spawn in the game?
A: Yes, every configured Pokémon does spawn, provided that all spawning conditions are met.
Q: What should I do if a spawned Pokémon doesn't have a texture?
A: It's noted that the mod doesn't add any models or textures. You might need to check for compatibility with other mods or resource packs that add these elements.
Q: Can I modify spawn conditions for Cobblemon?
A: Yes, with the standalone version of the Myths and Legends addon, you can create your own spawn settings. However, this might not work with the "normal" version, and specific items used in spawn conditions must be implemented in the version you're using.
Q: How can I make legendaries spawn more frequently?
A: For more frequent legendary spawns, you can edit the spawn conditions, such as placing them in the common spawn bucket with a high weight, using the standalone version.
Q: Is there a way to report issues or suggestions for the addon?
A: Yes, @Le0n(on Discord) encourages sharing any issues, ideas, or feedback to improve and evolve the addon. You can share your thoughts and suggestions directly in the conversation or through designated channels here:
- **[Discord Invite Link]( 链接)**
Q: Can I use data/resource packs with this mod?
A: Yes, data and resource packs like MysticMons can work alongside this mod, potentially adding models for the legendaries/mythical Pokémon.
Q: Where can I find the official guide and spawn pool information?
A: The official guide and details on spawn pools are available at the Cobblemon wiki and the modrinth page.
Q: Are there updates planned for the Myths and Legends addon?
A: Yes, updates are planned, including new features and compatibility improvements. Specific details will be shared by Le0n when available.

Myths and Legends [Cobblemon Sidemod] BETA- 1.7 (NeoForge)
## IMPORTANT: PLEASE USE THIS VERSION IF YOU ARE USING 1.6. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND UPDATING DUE TO A MAJOR BUG IN THE PREVIOUS VERSION (which I will delete or have already deleted).
## New Transformations and Form Changes
- **Calyrex** now supports "fusion" with **Glastrier** or **Spectrier** using the **Reins of Unity** key item.
- Right-click Calyrex with the **Reins of Unity** and ensure you have an empty party slot to fuse or unfuse. (Full tutorial coming soon!)
## Key Items - New Additions
Expand your collection with these newly introduced **Key Items**:
- You can now **Enable/Disable Debug Mode**. I got tired of constantly adding and removing debug messages, so I added a config option for it. Use it as you like, but don't complain if the console gets spammed with messages! :D
- The second option controls the delay (in ticks, where 20 ticks = 1 second) for when forms and aspects are applied after a player joins the server. This is especially useful if the player has fused Pokémon or applied form changes, ensuring they are properly "permanent" as long as the Pokémon is fused or holds the correct item.
Both options are also accessible through the **in-game settings GUI** for easy adjustment! (Use `/mythsandlegends settings`)

- **Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina** can now seamlessly shift into their **Origin Forms** when holding their respective **Key Items**:
- Dialga: *Adamant Orb*
- Palkia: *Lustrous Orb*
- Giratina: *Griseous Orb*
- **Zacian** and **Zamazenta** can now also assume their **Crowned Forms** when equipped with their Key Items:
- Zacian: *Rusted Sword*
- Zamazenta: *Rusted Shield*
- **Kyurem** now supports fusion with **Reshiram** or **Zekrom** using the **DNA Splicer Key Item**.
- Right-click Kyurem with the **DNA Splicer** and an empty party slot to fuse or unfuse. (Full tutorial coming soon!)
## Key Items - New Additions
Expand your arsenal with these newly introduced **Key Items**:
- The deprecated `custom_key_item` condition has been replaced by the new **`custom_key_items`** system. Now you can list multiple items with consumption rules:
```json
"custom_key_items": [
{
"id": "minecraft:emerald",
"count": 10,
"consume": true
},
{
"id": "minecraft:diamond",
"count": 5,
"consume": true
}
]
```
- Likewise, the old `custom_pokemon_in_team` has evolved into **`custom_pokemons_in_team`**, offering more flexible team configurations:
```json
{
"custom_pokemons_in_team": [
{
"species": "charizard",
"count": 2
},
{
"species": "pikachu",
"count": 1
},
{
"species": "blastoise",
"count": 3
}
]
}
```
## Quality of Life Improvements
- Introducing an **in-game settings GUI** for configuring mod options. Access it via the command `/mythsandlegends settings`.
> Note: While 95% of settings are adjustable through the GUI, a few advanced options may still require manual changes.
**New Config Option Added:**
You can now **Enable/Disable Form Changes** such as DNA Splicer and Held Item Form Changes using a new configuration setting. Possible values are `true` or `false`, with the default set to `true`.
```ini
form_changes = false
```

### **Modifications**
- **Updated spawning files:**
- I have updated all json files for each Pokemon for better compatibility instead `"id": "arceus-1"` every `"id"` starts now with `mythsandlegends-` like this example `"id": "mythsandlegends-arceus-1"`
### New Features
- **Loot Tables Configuration Update:**
- Introduced a new configuration file `loot_tables_config.json`.
- This file is automatically generated at the start of the game and is populated with every key item by default.
- **Force Spawning:**
- You can now enable Force Spawning in the config. If enabled, players will be able to right-click key items to forcefully spawn Pokémon. The key item must be used as a spawning condition. This will only work if all conditions are met (such as being in the correct biome, achieving the required light level, having an unobstructed view of the sky, etc.) for the Pokémon to spawn. Note: This feature also works for custom spawns created by others; they just need to be in the same spawn pool, which is set inside the config as `force_spawning_spawn_pool`.
### Modifications
- **Updated Loot Tables:**
- The list of loot tables where key items can appear has been modified to be more manageable and configurable via `loot_tables_config.json`.
- Each item now has an individual spawn chance specified directly in the JSON configuration, maintaining a default weight of `0.005` across all loot tables.
- `enable_force_spawning`: Determines if right-clicking key items forcefully spawns Pokémon that require the clicked key item as a spawning condition.
- Possible values: `true`/`false`
- Default: `false`
- `force_spawning_spawn_pool`: Determines in which Spawn Pool the force spawning module should check. Possible values: common, uncommon, rare and ultra-rare.
- Possible values: `"common"`/`"uncommon"`/`"rare"`/`"ultra-rare"`
- Default: `"ultra-rare"`
- `force_spawn_item_cooldown`: Sets the cooldown period in seconds after a key item is used for force spawning before it can be used again.
- Possible values: any integer >= 1
- Default: 20
- `force_spawn_check_width`: Defines the width around the player within which the game checks for possible Pokémon spawns when force spawning.
- :warning: Increasing this value may cause lag but is more likely to find a spawn. Please adjust carefully.
- Possible values: any integer >= 1
- Default: 100
- `force_spawn_check_height`: Specifies the height around the player for checking potential Pokémon spawns when force spawning, similar to `force_spawn_check_width`.
- Possible values: any integer >= 1
- Default: 50
- Note: Inventory checks happen once for the player who is using the item.
- **Removed Settings:**
- The following configuration settings have been removed:
- `loot_tables` (previously known as `lootTablesToModify`).
- `loot_table_item_spawn_chance` (previously `chancePerItemToSpawn`).
- `divide_item_spawn_chance` (previously `chancePerItemDivideByAllItemsToAdd`).
- Fixed the spawn file for `Lugia`; previously, the presets were set to `natural`, which made it impossible to encounter. Corrected it now to use `freshwater` and `underwater`. Thanks to @zaoizys for bringing this up.
- Fixed an error where, if the `debts.json` file doesn't exist, it kept spamming errors. :) Now, the file will be created if it doesn't exist, thanks to @adam1972 for bringing this up.
In the latest update of our beloved Cobblemon Myths and Legends addon, I'm thrilled to introduce a slew of exciting features designed to enrich your gameplay experience. Among these, the broadcasting system and inventory check enhancements stand out, offering both a deeper immersion into the world of Cobblemon and a more refined control over game mechanics. With a keen focus on improving interactions and adding a layer of strategy, I've crafted these updates to enhance your adventures and challenges within the Cobblemon universe.
- **Added**: A comprehensive broadcasting system to notify players about significant events, specifically Pokemon spawns, through customizable messages. This system includes several settings allowing for precise control over what information is shared and how.
- `isBroadcastEnabled = false`: Activates the broadcasting features, encompassing all notification types specified under `broadcast_settings`. This toggle enables or disables the entire broadcasting system, with the default set to `false` for a quieter experience.
- `broadcast_settings`:
- `BroadcastToAll`: When enabled, broadcasts messages to all players. Default is `true`.
- `DisplayName`: Shows the name of the Pokemon in the message if enabled. Default is `true`.
- `Legendarys`, `Mythicals`, `UltraBeasts`: Enable messages for the respective Pokemon spawns. Defaults are `true` for Legendarys and Mythicals, and `false` for UltraBeasts.
- `Location`: Includes the spawn location in messages if enabled. Default is `true`.
- `Shiny`, `Level`: Enable broadcasting the Shiny status and the level of the spawned Pokemon, respectively. Defaults are `false` for Shiny and `true` for Level.
#### Inventory Check Enhancements:
- **Added**: New options to scan for items within shulker boxes and bundles, adding a layer of depth to inventory management.
- `inventory_check_shulker_boxes = true`: Scans the contents of shulker boxes during inventory checks.
- `inventory_check_bundles = true`: Scans the contents of bundles during inventory checks.
### Changes:
- **Inventory Check Interval**: The `inventory_check_interval` setting, formerly known as `checkInventoryInterval`, has been reimagined to allow for a flexible time frame between checks, enhancing gameplay fluidity and reducing predictability.
### Added Debt System:
- **Introduced**: A debt system that adds a strategic element to item management. If a player stashes required items out of sight, they may incur a debt that prevents certain Pokemon spawns until the debt is cleared by having the items in their inventory during an inventory check.
## Configuration Adjustments:
To accommodate these new features and changes, various settings within the `Cobblemon_MythsAndLegends_Addon_Config.toml` file have been adjusted or added. These adjustments aim to provide a tailored experience that fits your play style, whether you seek a more immersive, information-rich game or prefer to discover the mysteries of Cobblemon on your own terms.
I hope these updates enhance your journey through the world of Cobblemon, bringing new challenges and surprises around every corner. As always, your feedback is invaluable to me, and I look forward to hearing about your adventures with these new features at your side.
## Commands Update, Permissions Integration, and Spawn Setting Adjustments
### Updated Command Names
- The `checkkeyitems` command has been renamed to `listitems`.
- The `checkinventorymanually` command has been renamed to `checkinventory`.
### Added Permissions
For each command within the "mythsandlegends" addon, specific permissions have been introduced to provide granular control over who can execute these commands. Below are the details:
- **General Access to MythsAndLegends Commands**
- **Permission**: `mythsandlegends.access`
- Grants access to all "mythsandlegends" commands. Without this permission, players cannot use any of the addon's commands.
- **List Items Command**
- **Permission**: `mythsandlegends.listitems`
- Allows players to list key items in a specified player's inventory.
- **Check Inventory Command**
- **Permission**: `mythsandlegends.checkinventory`
- Enables manual inventory checks for a specified player.
- **List Pokémon Command**
- **Permission**: `mythsandlegends.listpokemon`
- Permits listing all Pokémon in a specified player's party.
### Note on LuckPerms Dependency
- If LuckPerms is installed, the addon will utilize the specified permissions for command execution control.
- **Without LuckPerms**, all commands fall back to requiring **OP level 2** for execution. This ensures that server operators can still manage command usage effectively, even in the absence of a permissions management system.
### Adjustments to Pokémon Spawn Settings
- **Articuno** and **Deoxys** spawn settings have been updated for improved gameplay balance, thanks to @ultranikki for bringing this up:
- **Spawn Bucket**: Moved from the `common` bucket to the `ultra-rare` bucket to reflect their rarity accurately.
- **Spawn Weight**: Adjusted from `10` to `0.1`.
Please update your server configurations and permissions setup accordingly to accommodate these changes and ensure a smooth gameplay experience for your players.
# Changelog for Cobblemon MythsAndLegends Addon 1.6.3
## New Features
- **Inventory Check Item List**: A new configuration option `inventory_check_item_list` has been introduced. This feature allows for specifying a list of items that the game will check for in player inventories at each specified interval, enhancing mod customization for specific item-based interactions or effects.
## Changes
- **All Key Items in Loot Tables**: Thanks to feedback from @ultranikki, who identified an oversight, all 30 key items are now correctly included in the loot tables.
- **Updated Configuration Variable Names**: To better align with their functionality and improve consistency across the configuration, several variable names have been updated. The old names are provided for reference, but they are not used in the new version.
- `inventory_check_interval` (previously `checkInventoryInterval`): Defines the interval for inventory checks.
- `consume_items_on_successful_spawn` (previously `consumeConditionalItemOnSuccessfulSpawn`): Controls item consumption on successful events.
- `ignore_key_items` (previously `IfKeyItemAndItemRequirementIsSetConsumeOnlyItems`): Determines item consumption behavior under specific conditions.
- `loot_tables` (previously `lootTablesToModify`): Specifies loot tables to be modified to include key items.
- `loot_table_item_spawn_chance` (previously `chancePerItemToSpawn`): Sets the chance for items to spawn in modified loot tables.
- `divide_item_spawn_chance` (previously `chancePerItemDivideByAllItemsToAdd`): Adjusts spawn chance based on the number of key items.
## Improvements
- **Enhanced Documentation and Default Values**: The default configuration file now includes comprehensive comments, default values, and possible value ranges for each setting. This update aims to facilitate a better understanding and easier configuration process for users.
## Important Notes
- **No Backward Compatibility**: This version does not support backward compatibility with previous configuration files. **It is strongly recommended for users to create a backup of their existing configuration file before upgrading. After backing up, users should delete the old configuration file and use the new version to avoid any conflicts or issues.**
- **Deprecated Configuration Names**: The old configuration variable names are deprecated and will not be recognized by the new version. Users are advised to familiarize themselves with the new names and update their configuration accordingly.
### Reminder: Configurations not mentioned here are currently non-functional. Future updates may add new features and options.
### Visual Enhancements

### Configuration Changes
- The configuration file has been moved from `config/` to `config/MythsAndLegends` for better organization and accessibility.
I've made a significant leap from version 1.2.1 to 1.3.1, skipping over version 1.3.0, to bring these exciting updates to the mod:
#### Enhancements:
- **Updated Configurations:**
- I renamed `consumeKeyItemOnSuccessfulSpawn` to `consumeConditionalItemOnSuccessfulSpawn` for enhanced clarity.
- Introduced a new configuration option, `IfKeyItemAndStoneRequirementIsSetConsumeOnlyStones`. This setting allows for more control over whether only stones should be consumed when both a key item and a stone requirement are met, and `consumeConditionalItemOnSuccessfulSpawn` is enabled.
- **Condition Enhancements:**
- I added specific stone requirement conditions to enhance gameplay flexibility. These conditions are designed to check for the required amount of different stones in the player's inventory. Each condition focuses on a distinct type of stone:
- `thunder_stone_requirement`
- `water_stone_requirement`
- `ice_stone_requirement`
- `fire_stone_requirement`
#### New Versions:
- **Full Version:** This version now includes complete spawn configurations for each key item added, offering a comprehensive experience with predefined spawns.
- **Standalone Version:** This version focuses solely on the conditions, providing a modular approach to the mod's integration by omitting spawn configurations.
