# Lamps are now dimmable.
Each lamp has four modes that can be changed using the new ceramic screwdriver:
- ON / OFF (Using Hand)
- ON / OFF (Using Redstone)
- 16-Stage Dimmable (Using Hand)
- 16-Stage Dimmable (Using Redstone)
This means that worlds can be given a completely new atmosphere using redstone or by hand. Redstone professionals can create lighting effects. The simple ON / OFF modes can light up an entire room with a simple operation.

Lamps can now be switched on and off not only by clicking on them, but also by Redstone.
**Please note that the redstone signal blocks clicking and vice versa.**
