A fabric mod that introduces a comprehensive body temperature system.
This mod is available under the MIT license.
#### Note: This mod is mostly complete and I will not focus on it as much. However I have not abandoned it and I plan to keep it up to date with the latest major minecraft version.
This fabric mod introduces a body temperature system influenced by the biome, time of day, weather conditions, and surrounding blocks. Experiencing extreme temperatures can result in damage, but strategies exist to maintain optimal temperature.
In vanilla Minecraft, biomes have inherent temperatures, which this mod utilizes to determine the player's comfort level. Thus, it seamlessly integrates with modded biomes, provided their temperatures are appropriately set.
Heat-generating blocks within a 3-block radius slowly increase temperature: Torches and fire by 3, lava by 8, and campfires by 15. Additionally, wearing leather armor contributes to warmth: Boots by 1, leggings by 2, chestplate by 3, and helmet by 1.
By combining leather armor with wool cloth on a crafting table, you can enhance its warmth twice per armor piece.
Cold-generating blocks within a 2-block range reduce temperature: Ice by 1, packed ice by 3, and blue ice by 6. This proves useful in hot climates, allowing players to cool down by placing ice underfoot.
Various environmental factors contribute to cooling, such as rain, snow, nighttime, and immersion in water. Enchantments like fire protection reduce temperature, with fire resistance preventing damage from high temperatures.
Wind particles indicate direction and intensity, with exposure cooling players. Wind intensity increases with altitude.
The ice box, a new block, simplifies ice acquisition pre-Silk Touch. Initially empty, it can be filled with water by right-clicking with a water bottle. In cold biomes, it gradually freezes water, yielding ice. However, it will melt in warmer biomes, its rate dictated by temperature.
The brick fireplace, when lit, emits warmth within a large radius. Fuels like coal and charcoal sustain it for varying durations. Surrounding it with brick, cobblestone, or stone brick walls channels smoke upward like a chimney.
A thermometer in the hotbar indicates temperature, transitioning from blue (cold) to orange (hot). When extreme, it shakes. Holding a thermometer in the offhand reveals precise temperature in a pop-up display, with 50 denoting neutrality.
Compatible with Fabric Seasons, wherein temperature varies with the current season.
Incompatible with C2ME.
